college tips

1. Rethink your schedule... ALL the teachers take role 5 minutes before the official starting time, instead of 3 minutes after.
2. Yeah, sure, you get to pick your food, but you have to eat 2 or 3 meals at school, instead of just one.
3. Get to know your roommates before you go to college... it makes the first night way less awkward... thank goodness i at least knew this one before i came.
4. The first day of class is still the worst, and it's worth it to have school on Labor Day when you get 6 weeks for Christmas Break!
5. It's still just as hard to find time to sleep, even if you do get to take naps in between classes.
6. Bring a very good blanket... one room controls the whole floor, and chances are they like it really cold at night, well, in the day too actually.
7. Laptops are essential... desktops need annoying wiring that might take 4 days to get hooked up.
8. Don't forget your pillows when you leave.
9. Bring some good comfy walking shoes... after about 4 whole days in flip-flops, your feet are gonna need at least a day of break.
10. Even with 2 trash cans, water bottles take up a lot of room when you drink about 9 in a day together.
11. Make sure you find a good shorthand... the teachers don't always wait for you to make cute letters and creative bulletins.
12. DON'T forget your towel the second time you go to the shower... you'll somehow end up blaming it on your roommates. lol.
13. Make sure your camera can take more than 3 pictures before you leave.
14. Don't laugh too loud after one o'clock in the morning.
15. You're gonna need light bulbs and outlet splitters... badly.
16. NEVER forget your ID scanner card at lunchtime... the lady with the funny hair will never forgive you... ever.
17. Even if you bring 36 movies, it prolly won't be enough to last the first couple weekends.

I regularly walk into my classes two minutes late, talking with my teacher, I still eat peanut butter and jelly at least once a week, the first night with my roommate my phone rang and he told me if it ever happened again he'd slit my throat... I only get three weeks for Christmas break, but I get to go to Cancun the second week of school next semester :-D, I don't take naps ever and sleep is a luxury I don't like, I'm that guy that likes it cold and I'm sleeping with my window open even though it's below 60 outside, I got a free laptop from my school, my pillows were in the mail when I got to school and I borrowed a sleeping bag from someone else on the first night, I've only worn shoes three days since being back and I prefer to be barefoot, I use a Nalgene so I'm not throwing plastic away all the time :-P My handwriting has been called many things, but CUTE is definitely NOT one of them, I go to shower without my towel on purpose, I don't know what your problem is ;-) I have a digital camera and I can have over 1,000 pictures on my memory card, laughing loudly is always better when you are waking someone else up to do it, because then you get to laugh at them being grumpy, the school pays for light bulbs here, it's usually a student working the scanner thingy and my ID is in my wallet that I always have with me, and I can't remember the last time I saw a movie :-)

Was that way too long and ridiculous? Yes. Was it a lot of fun to respond to all of those points? Yes. Is it 2:30 in the morning before an 8 o'clock class? Yes. Did all this start as an effort just to get that thing about the shower in there? Yes. Am I leaving now? Yes. Will I get up in the morning? Yes. Is security throwing me out of the building...? Yes.
