and you thought you knew it all...

my pathetic attempt to let everything out...

untitled...

(okay i kinda cheated with that song title... but i just had to show you this. my family all read poems after thanksgiving dinner... and this was the one that my uncle wrote... omg it's hilarious! a few things you must understand for this poem to make sense: 1)most of my family was at volleyball senior night; 2)you might not know what "misnomer" means... just keep reading and don't worry about it lol; 3) my Grandfather's been the President of more than one college, and he's rather smart; 4) most schools are much bigger on the whole "shoe" thing than we are; 5) my Aunt Susie is an absolute clean freak. okay... i think that's all)

"One Flu Over the Volleyball Net"

As we gather on this Thanksgiving
Surrounded by family and friends
If we truly counted our blessings
We would see that our list never ends

One thing I count as a blessing
Just between me and you
Is that somehow this fall I avoided
The dreaded volleyball flu

The Cair Paravel team was really hit hard
And of 10, they say it felled 8
And I think if we looked even closer we'd find
The other two weren't feeling that great

This illness struck all their opponents,
Some parents, and classmates too
And no one could tell just what was the cause
Of this mysterious volleyball flu

The name "flu" may be a misnomer
Because no one really can tell
Just what it was that laid them all low
And made them feel not so well

Was the culprit the food or the water?
Or perhaps some uncovered Ah-choos?
Grandpa say's he's figured it out
The contestants were licking their shoes

They would lick their fingers and rub their shoes
And then they'd hit the ball
And so by doing this one little thing
They spread illness to one and all

If what Grandpa surmises is true
(And his wisdom is hard to ignore)
Then maybe Japan and Aunt Susie are right
We should all leave our shoes at the door

free at last...

(that's just an okay song... i needed a little though) at least we're free for the next five days!!! yay!!! i'm so happy to be off for thanksgiving break. we haven't had a break in a long time. and the rest of this quarter should fly by pretty quickly. and i'm all caught up in my late work (another burden off my back lol) which is good news cause downslips were due today.
i'm excited to go see Harry Potter tonight... after several attempts at plans to go see it over this past weekend. haha! i just spent $56 at the theater getting tickets early... you guys better pay up or i won't be very happy with you. lol. at any rate, we've waited a long time and we're finally getting to go see it! yay! i've heard very good things about it. the rest of my extra-long weekend should be slightly hectic and rather busy, but very fun. i love those weekends. i also like the relaxing ones too, of course, but i'm in the mood for some rockin-awesome times this weekend. i'm sure i won't be very much disappointed.
i've begun to realize that our section of the blogging community is slowing to nearly a standstill... whether this is due to the business this time of year or to the fact that no can think of anything to write or to the fact that blogging is dying out, i don't know... but it's very sad. oh well... as chauncy would say: "a garden has seasons. in the winter the plants sleep, and in the spring they'll come again." if you've seen that movie in apologetics class, you'll know that that statement should be interpretted and applied to this to say: "don't worry... they'll start writing again... it's just a phase."
sorry for that rather ridiculously unnecessary explanation. monica would say that i do that a lot. i'm sure she's prolly right. (then again... when is she not? lol) she cracks me up... my fellow sarcasminist! haha! (don't ask... i'd take too much time explaining lol) on the other hand, i suppose not everyone was meant to cross paths with some people. haha! oh well.
anyways, i'd better go do something besides type nothingness at you, so everybody have a great thanksgiving weekend!

in the end...

sometimes that song just describes life, ya know? at least i spent the day away from school with the juniors and got my mind off some things... but then i had to go talk to Mel and, while it helped so much, it also put my mind back on such topics as did not improve my mood. lol. oh well... you can't avoid things and just expect them to go away, i suppose. i guess it depends on the issue at hand. but this one won't at least. but it's really not much of anything that i can do something about. well, i'm the only one that can really do anything about it at the moment. i hate having to be vague... and i'm sure it's bothering you too so how about i just stop with the idle complaints... and on to brighter subjects...
it's almost thanksgiving weekend. my day yesterday was actually really great, cause i got invited to the bachelorette party and got to know Jake better and then talked to adam about some things. jake's really quite hilarious. haha! and it was just a lot of fun doing something totally ordinary. kinda. anyways... my weekend was pretty good, but still rather busy from the play. i'm having a lot of fun with that. apparently the cast party's at my house now. this was kinda a suprise when i walked home this afternoon, but i guess as long as no one else minds, i'm fine. anyways, i'd better stop here... i'll write again later

you knew i'd love you anyway
so you thought you'd test my trust
and before i knew it you were gone
and i was drawing pictures in your dust
the trail you're on is so steep
that i'm sure you'll fall back down

and when you do i hope you learn
to stand on level firmer ground

well i'd love to have a smile on my face
if i could only get past what you say
and breathing wouldn't be so hard
if you didn't take my breath away

but i don't have a choice
and you don't hear my voice
so i guess i'll hit the pavement again today

this life has no color
if you see in black and white
so how can it be interesting
when you only get out at night
you miss the real intent
behind the things you think you see
and you never really take the time
to apply yourself to me

well i'd love to have a smile on my face
if i could only get past what you say
and breathing wouldn't be so hard
if you didn't take my breath away
but i don't have a choice
and you don't hear my voice
so i guess i'll hit the pavement again today

forever seventeen...

sad song... yet when you think about it, being 17 forever's better than being like 3 forever. not the point though, in this case. anyways, my weekend's been relatively good. busy, but at least that means i'm generally being halfway productive. last night was allie's party... i'm pretty sure that's the first time i'd seen ice age all the way through. it made me laugh a lot. on my birthday, it's a friday... and we have school off then!!! how cool is that? i was very excited.
i got my phone back again yesterday... so now you can call me anytime again lol... till i'm out of the house after 8 for school again. how utterly ridiculous. oh well. everyone should come see the musical... the music's actually really great. so unless you're like Craig and have absolutely no spare time cause you're working on your own music, or you live really far away, then i expect to see you there. after all, who would wanna miss seeing matt sing really high while he's dressed up like an old lady?... certainly not me. (yes... i know that's incorrect grammar, but the other way just sounds so odd, ya know?)
if any of you think that picture on facebook's weird, it's up there because i have no pictures on my computer, so i just use the ones that other people put up on my site. you're welcome to add yours to the mix lol... but if it doesn't have something remotely to do with me, then it prolly won't end up on my profile. for any of you that aren't on facebook, it's prolly cause you think it's just the latest stupid fad. but you're wrong. so you should come and add your wonderful self to the facebook community. lol.
i think my voice is gonna die soon... and friday night's very important for the musical. let's hope i can still sing for that. haha! (that'd be terribly funny if i couldn't, huh guys?) i think it's cause the weather's being so weird. sorry for all you summertime people, but i wish it'd start acting like november. lol. anyways, i'd better go get started on some homework.
